GPsop - Sopwith for GamePark32 August 13th, 2003 =============================================================================== by Pawel Szymczykowski (pawel@makenai.net) Description ----------- GPsop is a port of Simon Howard's wonderful SDL Sopwith (1.60), which in turn was a port of David L. Clark's spectacu-fanta-bulous original CGA version of Sopwith, which I have many very fond childhood memories of. Unlike Simon's nice and organized rewrite, this port has some very ugly hacks in it to make it work. Unforunately this project was started quite a while back before SDL for GP32 ever popped up. It does achieve its' main object though, which is to work on the GP32. It plays at full speed. Sound works, but is clicky. I would *love* it if someone could help straighten that out for me, since it should be pretty simple if you know what you are doing (unlike me). One nice thing added on top of Simon's version is configurable keys. Please enjoy this. I decided to finally finish up the last parts and get it released since I have been sitting on it for months without so much as touching it. I have a very good reason for that, I promise. Usage ----- Just drag the sopwith.fxe over to your GamePark's smartmedia card and fire it up. Default keys for gameplay are: Up - Accelerate Down - Decelerate Left - Pull Up Right - Pull Down A - Fire Machine Gun B - Bomb Select - Roll Start - Fly Home L - Fire Missile R - Launch Flare A+B+L+R - Quit (maybe) These are all configurable from the setup menu. Todo ---- * Maybe someone could help me fix the sound? * Multiplayer would be nice.. but I'm not going to be the one to do it. Heh.
